What! Sure I mentioned it before, it's fantastic! How about three words to get you to read them War. Against. God.
-Not the sole point but they got me reading it and it is a fantastic series, generaly considered kids books anyone who has read them knows better, there the only books centred around a kid I really like (when I first saw them I wasn't that inclined to read them till I found out the details) and thats because they engaged so many very adult themes on so many facinating levels, religion being one element. They are well worth a read, was voted second favourite book in Britain (after LOTR but they had a movie behind them already, cheating if you ask me) and were condemed by the Church. Some other words: Parralel worlds, airships, dictatorial theocratic government, trips to the north pole, armoured polar bears, gay angels, rematch between Satain and God (to put it one way) dark matter, gyptions in a good light, Oxford!
