To bring you up to date, Simone has had mixed reactions as she has come out to friends and relatives. But her best friend Jessica, who has her own issues to deal with, is now cool with it all, after initial shock and being upset that Simone hadn't been honest with her from the git-go. And no, Simone is not going to recruit her BFF. :rolleyes

However, Simone's father T.C. is having a hard time with this. I loved it when Simone's mother reminded him that this intolerance on his part was no different than when he has been confronted with bigotry for being black. It really hasn't helped him see the light, and TC firmly believes his daughter is a pervert, out looking to go after every woman she sees.

On Friday, Alistair set it up so that TC would see a tape of Simone and her lover of a couple months ago, Rae. Included in the tape was a scene with Alistair paying Rae for her 'work'. Now Alistair is the most evil man on the face of the earth. And although I have not been watching this show for long, he hates TC for some reason or other.

Now what Alistair tells his assistant as they watch TC and the rest of the family watch this tape - "TC is not a very progressive individual. And the last thing he would like to see tonight is a visual reminder that his precious daughter Simone prefers women over men." Of course, TC wants to kill Alistair for making his daughter gay after seeing this tape.

Now I will be the first this is a silly soap. And most every storyline is complete foolishness. But for some reason, this storyline has been done quite well. Unlike Bianca's coming out where everyone except Erica and Greenlee were all understanding and coddling her when she came out, Simone has faced a variety of reactions. And the fact her father is so out there with the idea that his daughter decided or was coerced to become gay is bizarre as well. But every time he opens his mouth, others are pointing out how stupid his views are. Even evil Alistair realizes how foolish TC's reactions are.

So at the end of Friday's episode, Rae showed up at Alistair's mansion where everyone else is, sees Simone, and they both are surprised to see each other. Alistair obviously told Rae to come to the mansion.

What will probably happen? My guess is that Rae will do the typical - I was paid to seduced you and never thought I would fall in love with you. I hope so - I love Rae and I think she would be a good, strong person to help Simone deal with her father. And again, for whatever reason, Passions has thus far done a great job with this s/l. Let's hope the trend comtinues!
